Outside Block then Two Counters

http://youtu.be/otkkRpwD2LE
Basic same arm outside block then counter punch.

The second counter is done with the cane.

I switch grips by transferring the cane to my lead hand and holding it in the middle or ‘7th’ position.

From here I simply backhand the part of the cane closest to my little finger into his groin.

At this point I withdraw.

Inside Block then Two Counters

http://youtu.be/2ZdXrmUX1uI
Basic same arm inside block then counter punch.

Again, the second counter is done with the cane while I am holding it in the fist or ‘walking’ position.

But this time I turn my palm upward then swing the cane low in a forehand swing.

Again, I make contact with the portion of the cane closest to my hand (as shown).

This is a forehand swing and I demonstrate its power at mid height into the bag.

But I use it into the leg at a low height (where the best defense would be to move away from it).

Rising Block then two Counters

http://youtu.be/PT9PRq__YIw
Basic same arm rising block then counter punch.

The second counter is done with the can while I am holding it in the fist or ‘walking’ position.

I simply lift it into the groin or, if the groin is closed off, I drive it in a short circle into the outside of the thigh.

I make contact with the portion of the cane closest to my hand.

Angled Block, Shift Away Kick, Backhand Knifehand

 http://youtu.be/MnkhcunSziE
This is another simple defense drill.

This time the attacker leads with a stepthrough punch to the body.

Again, this is much like yesterday except that he is using a looping punch to the side of the abdomen.

I knock the attacking limb away with an angled block (as shown).

I shift back and kick to the groin with the ball of the foot.

I step down as I strike with a Knifehand to the face with my lead hand.

I withdraw back out.

This is another simple defense drill.

This time the attacker leads with a stepthrough punch to the body.

I knock the attacking limb away with a mantis block (as shown).

I shift back and kick to the groin with the ball of the foot.

I step down as I jab to the face with my lead hand.

I withdraw back out.

The primary differences between today and yesterday (or the day before) is the attacker is punching to the body and I am blocking down and top the side in response.

Combinations with the Straight Thrust

http://youtu.be/6g7Ft8bq7xo
Today I am performing two basic combinations of two punches.

One uses the same fist twice while the other uses both fists.

However, both combinations have three different variations.

Keep in mind that it is the ‘doing’ that counts.

It is not so important as to what I am ‘doing’ as long as it is correct.
